Mandy Hofheins is a dynamic cellist whose music brings beauty, emotion, and unforgettable atmosphere to every setting. Based in Salt Lake Utah, she performs regularly with the Orchestra at Temple Square, her string quartet Souvenir Strings, and for weddings, corporate events, restaurants, recording sessions, Metropolitan Ballet, and more.
Mandy’s connection with the cello began at a young age and quickly took flight. At just 17, she soloed with local orchestras, including the Utah Symphony. She studied under renowned teachers such as John Eckstein of the Utah Symphony, Jonathan Koh, Michelle Kesler, and others, shaping both her technical excellence and expressive artistry.
While studying cello performance at Brigham Young University, Mandy began exploring music beyond the classical tradition—jazz, pop, indie, and modern composition. Experimenting with these styles on the cello opened an entirely new creative world. She fell in love with blending genres and became passionate about sharing this fresh, modern sound with her audiences.
Using a loop pedal, Mandy creates layered harmonies and rich textures live, building entire soundscapes in real time. Her lyrical melodies, paired with the sound of multiple cellos performed by a single artist, create an immersive and truly memorable experience.
Mandy’s greatest hope is to bring joy, hope, and happiness through her music—touching hearts and creating meaningful moments.
